Cold Springs Cemetery

Cold Springs Cemetery is a historic cemetery located at Lockport in Niagara County, New York. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004 for being a lovely example of a Victorian rural cemetery. Cold Springs Cemetery was crucial in the development of the City and Town of Lockport, New York, in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It is known for its funerary art that consists of uninscribed headstones to beautiful family settings surrounded by cast-iron fences as well as mausoleums. The 50 acres of rolling, elegant and naturally landscaped terrain includes a variety of flowering shrubs, flower beds, and mature trees, originally began during the War of 1812. The cemetery dates over 200 years of age, with the first civilian burial being in 1815.
